Marintel Valuation Engine — From intake to signed certificate

How it works

I need a valuation. Three steps.

01

Tell us about the vessel
Vessel name, IMO number, current ownership, intended use of the valuation (S&P, bank refinance, audit committee, insurance underwriting, arbitration). If you already have class certificates, condition reports, or trading history, upload them — it shortens turnaround. If you don't, we'll source what we need from public registries and partner APIs.

02

We do the work
Our AI pipeline pulls live trading data, comparable sales, class society status, AIS voyage patterns, and statutory cert verification. A senior maritime valuer reviews and signs off. You get a draft valuation within the committed turnaround window.

03

You receive a signed, verifiable artifact
Standard: a digital valuation certificate cryptographically signed by Marintel — banks and auditors verify it independently with our open verification tools, no phone-back required. Audit-grade: full documentation pack with two-valuer independent review, methodology disclosure, comparable transaction analysis, and formal sign-off ready for arbitration or audit committee submission.

What you get

Every Marintel valuation, audit-grade when you need it.

Standard

Included in every valuation
  • Market value statement with high/mid/low range and confidence interval
  • Comparable transaction analysis drawn from current trading data
  • Class society and statutory cert verification (no expired certs, no flag issues)
  • AIS trading-pattern analysis showing where and how the vessel has operated
  • Encumbrance check (mortgages, liens, sanctions exposure)
  • Cryptographically signed certificate that any third party can verify independently

Audit-grade

Additionally for audit-grade orders
  • Two-valuer independent review with documented sign-off chain
  • Methodology disclosure covering valuation approach, data sources, and confidence factors
  • Comparable transaction pack with full deal details for cited comparables
  • Formal documentation suitable for arbitration, regulator submission, audit committee, or dispute resolution

Turnaround

Fast where it matters. SLA-backed where it counts.

Spot valuations: 2–3 hours standard. 3 business days audit-grade.

Fleet contracts: custom SLA. Many fleet operators choose 2–3 business day standard turnaround for portfolio mark-to-market work.

For deals with tight closing timelines, rush turnaround is available with surcharge. Email valuations@marintel.co .

Why Marintel

Verifiable. Faster. Built on a vessel record that compounds.

Banks, auditors, and arbitrators verify independently
Every Marintel valuation is cryptographically signed. Your bank, your auditor, your arbitrator can verify the document came from us, that it hasn't been altered, and that the underlying data matches what we cited — without picking up the phone. A signed Marintel artifact survives scrutiny in ways an emailed PDF doesn't.
AI-augmented delivery, senior-valuer judgment
Our AI pipeline does the document gathering, comparable analysis, and trading-pattern review in minutes rather than days. A senior maritime valuer focuses on judgment — the work that actually requires human expertise. Turnaround is 2–3x faster than incumbents at the same audit-grade quality.
One vessel record across every valuation event
When you commission a valuation through Marintel, the underlying vessel record lives in your Marintel workspace. Next time you need a valuation — LTV refresh, audit cycle, S&P deal — we work from the same vessel record. No re-gathering documents. Each subsequent valuation is faster and cheaper to produce.
Senior maritime expertise, not commodity work
Our valuations are signed by senior maritime professionals with deep S&P, banking, and arbitration experience. We're not running a junior-staff valuation factory. The AI does the gathering and pattern-matching; humans do the judgment.

How we compare

Marintel vs traditional valuers.

The maritime valuations market has several established players (Clarksons, VV, MSI, Affinity). We're not always cheaper on a per-valuation basis — we're competitive. What we add is verifiability, integration, and faster turnaround.

Frequently asked questions

Answers, before you ask.

Do I need a Marintel subscription to request a valuation?
No. Spot valuations are available to anyone, including non-subscribers. You'll get a free Marintel account to receive the signed certificate; that's it. No subscription required.
How fast can you turn around a valuation?
Standard spot valuations: 2–3 hours from order to signed certificate. Audit-grade: 3 business days. Fleet contracts run to a custom SLA.
Can you handle valuations on vessels we don't yet own?
Yes. Pre-purchase valuations for vessels you're considering buying are a common use case. We work from publicly available data plus seller-disclosed documentation. The valuation is delivered to you regardless of whether you proceed with the purchase.
What if I need a valuation for an arbitration or court proceeding?
Order an audit-grade valuation. The documentation pack includes two-valuer independent review, full methodology disclosure, comparable transaction details, and formal sign-off chain — built to survive cross-examination and admit as evidence.
How do you handle valuations on sanctioned or sanctions-adjacent vessels?
We screen every vessel against OFAC, UN, EU, and UK sanctions lists before accepting an order. We won't value vessels owned by sanctioned entities or operating under sanctions evasion patterns. If you're unsure about a vessel's sanctions status, contact us first.
What's included in a fleet contract?
A typical fleet contract covers: all valuation events across the agreed fleet for the contract period, a dedicated maritime valuer assigned to your fleet, API integration for automated triggers (LTV refresh, MTM, audit cycle), custom turnaround SLA, quarterly business review, and a bundled Marintel SaaS workspace at the Enterprise tier.
Do you provide valuations for newbuilds?
Yes. Pre-delivery valuations and progress-payment valuations during construction are supported. We work from yard documentation, contract terms, and comparable newbuild market data.
Can my bank verify the valuation without contacting Marintel?
Yes. Every Marintel valuation certificate is cryptographically signed. Your bank can verify the signature, document integrity, and underlying data citations using our open-source verification toolkit — no contact with us required.
How do you price audit-grade vs standard?
Standard valuations are included with a Marintel subscription and cover a single-valuer signed certificate with market value range and supporting analysis. Audit-grade valuations are $2,500 per vessel (limited-time promotional price, regular $3,500) and include two-valuer independent review, full methodology disclosure, comparable transaction pack, and formal documentation suitable for regulatory or legal proceedings.
What about VAT and taxes?
Pricing shown is exclusive of VAT and applicable taxes. Tax is calculated at checkout or invoicing based on your billing jurisdiction.
Can I request a sample valuation before I commit?
Yes. Email valuations@marintel.co and we'll share a redacted sample valuation certificate and audit-grade documentation pack. You'll see exactly what you receive before placing an order.
